Fenlong-Ridging Promotes Microbial Activity in Sugarcane: A Soil and Root Metabarcoding Survey

چکیده

Fenlong-ridging (FL) is a recently proposed conservation tillage technology which has dramatic differences to traditional ones. Previous studies have demonstrated in many crops that FL yield-increasing effects without additional inputs. However, little known about the role microbes play mediating growth-promoting of FL, restricts its further application and improvement. Here, we characterized variation soil root microbial diversity sugarcane (GT44) under turn-over plough (CK) by conducting 16S rRNA ITS metabarcoding surveys. We also measured several phenotypic traits determine yields analyzed chemical properties soil. found that: (i) plant height (PH) total biomass weight (TW) plants were 9.1% 21.7% greater than those CK, indicating\increased yield operation; (ii) contents organic matter, nitrogen, available phosphorus, potassium lower indicates utilization nutrients was soil; (iii) promoted activity endophytic roots, these diverse taxa might an effect on properties; (iv) Sphingomonas, Rhizobium, Paraburkholderia Talaromyces, Didymella, Fusarium top three most abundant genera bacteria fungi, respectively, samples. In addition, strains from Rhizobium Talaromyces isolated verify results survey. Overall, our study provides new insights into FL. These findings could be used improve applications this novel technology.

Long-term rice cultivation stabilizes soil organic carbon and promotes soil microbial activity in a salt marsh derived soil chronosequence

Soil organic carbon (SOC) sequestration with enhanced stable carbon storage has been widely accepted as a very important ecosystem property. Yet, the link between carbon stability and bio-activity for ecosystem functioning with OC accumulation in field soils has not been characterized. We assessed the changes in microbial activity versus carbon stability along a paddy soil chronosequence shifti...

Some Observathjns on Microbial Activities in Two Sugarcane Soil Groups

Introduction The nature of the processes reported here should not be regarded as occurring independently of other' reactions for the soil has a universe of its own in which a great number of different reactions are occurring simultaneously with one another. The type of investigations conducted below are thus only a part of a great number which can and do occur, and have 'been investigated in th...

Illumina metabarcoding of a soil fungal community

Next generation metabarcoding is becoming an indispensable tool in fungal community ecology. Here we tested Illumina metabarcoding, a method that generates shorter reads but achieves deeper sequencing than 454 metabarcoding approaches. We found that paired-end Illumina MiSeq data cover the full ITS1 in many fungal lineages and are suitable for environmental fungal community assessment. There wa...

Plant diversity increases soil microbial activity and soil carbon storage.

Plant diversity strongly influences ecosystem functions and services, such as soil carbon storage. However, the mechanisms underlying the positive plant diversity effects on soil carbon storage are poorly understood. We explored this relationship using long-term data from a grassland biodiversity experiment (The Jena Experiment) and radiocarbon ((14)C) modelling. Here we show that higher plant ...
